Islands of Coherence : A Space for Sharing & Sensemaking

The last few months have been uncertain, to say the least: COVID, wildfires, Brexit, climate change, huge protests, and conspiracy theories cropping up left, right and centre about what is going on… not to mention huge shifts to our ways of working, living, and interacting. Does anyone really know what on Earth is happening right now, or where it’s going to end up?

Prolonged periods of low-level stress and uncertainty can play havoc on our physical and mental health, and as we face a growing sense of threat, uncertainty and instability, it is more important than ever to find a space where we can come together, to listen, to be seen and heard, and to make sense of the world together.

Deep Adaptation coach Matthew Painton and I, two experienced coaches and facilitators who focus on the realm of Deep Adaptation, felt a calling to create a space for those who want to meet together with others who feel the noise and the dissonance, and want to sit together in the uncertainty. This is not a space to solve, fix or explain anything - it is not about debating opinions or adding to the noise. The idea is to create ‘islands of coherence’ - little spaces of certainty in our calendars, little havens of coherence in a sea of chaos, where we can share heartspace, reflect, share feelings, and find inspiration.

We will meet every Thursday at 7pm UK time for 90 minutes to share, reflect, and hear each other. Join the Facebook group or email me for the link.
